our little story
Agui swim was created during the 2020 pandemic by two Division I student-athletes robbed of a tennis season who wanted to do something meaningful with their time. The founders of agui swim both live at the beach on opposite ends of the East Coast of the United States and share a passion for fashion, sustainability, and spending hours at the beach. They are committed to building an authentic brand that provides community, comfort, and confidence, while positively impacting the environment.
Founders of Agui Swim both call the beach home. There are many things people expect of their home, and agui swim has those values baked into our product and our brand. At home, we want to feel safe, secure, and comfortable which is why agui is committed to comfortable swimwear that supports you and doesn’t slip. We want to be able to move freely through our homes and see beauty that reflects our own tastes. That is why our bikinis feature timeless, versatile designs that come in a wide variety of colors. We want our home to feel as though it belongs to us and that we are welcome in it. We want to be surrounded by friends and family. We expect responsibility and to be held accountable. That is why we feature models from our agui community, and our swimwear is made of one of the most responsible, eco-friendly fabrics on the planet.
Our Eco-friendly and Sustainable Fabrics
Agüi swimwear was designed consciously, made of Carvico Vita which is made of ECONYL®. This fabric is made of Nylon that has been regenerated from post-consumer materials. Not only is this fabric environmentally responsible, but it has an abundance of utility value. It is more chlorine and sunscreen resistant than most other fabrics and offers highly sufficient UV protection. Fashion is a great outlet for recycled plastic, as plastic can only undergo the recycling process a certain number of times. Therefore, long-lasting products are far more effective for recycling plastic. Our Bucket Hats are made of a combination of Carvico Vita and Cotton
